The time clock

How staff clock in and out, review shifts, and the forgot-to-clock-out reminder.

Lumè has a built-in time clock so staff can punch in and out for their shifts and managers can keep payroll honest.

Clocking in and out

Staff use the Clock in page. It's deliberately simple: one big button. When you're off the clock it reads Clock in; tap it to start your shift. Once you're on the clock, the page shows your running time — 2h 15m, since 9:30 AM — and the button becomes Clock out. That's the whole flow, designed for a quick tap on a phone or the front-desk tablet.

Below the button you'll see your recent shifts (your last five, so you can confirm yesterday went in) and who else is on the clock right now.

Reviewing shifts as a manager

Managers and owners get the fuller picture under Staff → Check-in: who's currently on the clock with their elapsed time, and a table of recent shifts you can filter by date range. This is also where you fix mistakes — if someone forgot to punch out or mistyped a time, you can edit the shift's clock-in and clock-out times or, if needed, delete it. Every correction is recorded in the audit trail, so the timesheet stays trustworthy.

The forgot-to-clock-out reminder

The most common time-clock mistake is forgetting to clock out, which turns an eight-hour shift into a sixteen-hour one on the timesheet. Lumè can catch it for you.

On the Clock in page, owners and managers see a Forgot-to-clock-out reminder card. Turn it on and set Remind after [N] hours (1–24). If an employee is still clocked in past that many hours, Lumè sends them a single text reminding them to clock out — once per shift, so it never nags. Twelve hours is a sensible default: long enough to clear a genuine double shift, short enough to catch an overnight mistake before payroll.
