Gift cards

Gift cards bring in money up front and new clients through the door. Lumè tracks every card you issue, what's been spent, and what's still outstanding. The Catalog → Gift cards page is where you look them up and manage them.

The top of the page shows how many cards you've issued, how many are active, and your outstanding liability — the total balance still sitting on active cards, which is money you owe in future services.

Selling a gift card

You don't create a card from the Gift cards page — you sell one at checkout. On an open invoice, use the Sell a gift card panel to issue a new card for whatever amount the client is buying. The card gets a code in the form GC-XXXX-YYYY.

Redeeming and looking up

• At checkout, redeem a card from the invoice's redeem panel — Lumè looks up the balance and applies it.
• To check a balance any time, use Look up a card by code at the top of the Gift cards page and enter the code.

Managing issued cards

The list shows each card's code, recipient, initial and current balance, issue date, and status — active, pending, expired, voided, or used (fully redeemed). If a card needs to be cancelled, an owner or manager can void it from its row by entering a reason.

Selling and redeeming gift cards is part of everyday checkout; voiding a card is limited to owners and managers.
