The daily close-out

Reconcile the day against the cash drawer and card terminal, split by method.

At the end of the day, the close-out is how you confirm the money Lumè recorded matches the cash in the drawer and the totals on your card terminal. Find it under Reports → Daily close-out.

What it shows

Across the top, three figures summarize the period: gross sales, tax collected, and the number of paid invoices. Below that is a day-by-day table. Each row is one day and breaks the total out by payment method — separate columns for cash, check, card, gift card, and other — alongside the invoice count, tax, and gross.

Splitting by method is the whole point: the cash column should match what's in the drawer, and the card column should match your terminal's batch total. When they line up, you're reconciled; when they don't, you know exactly which method to investigate.

Reconciling

  1. Set the date to the day you're closing.
  2. Count the drawer and compare it to the cash total.
  3. Compare your card terminal's batch to the card total.
  4. If something's off, the invoice tools — reopen and void — are how a manager corrects a miskeyed payment.

Exporting

Use the export to download the breakdown as a CSV for your bookkeeper or accounting software.

The close-out and the rest of the financial reports are limited to owners, managers, and bookkeepers — the people who handle the money. Other roles won't see these figures.
