The calendar workspace

Day, week, and month views, the provider columns, and the right-hand tool rail.

The calendar is where the front desk spends most of the day, so it opens as its own full-screen workspace rather than a normal page. Open it from Calendar in the menu. When you're done and want the rest of the app, use the Back link in the top-left, which returns you to the Dashboard.

The top bar

Across the top you'll find everything you need to move around the day:

  • The date controls — jump to today, step a day at a time, or pick a date.
  • The view toggle — switch between Day, Week, and Month.
  • A client search box to jump straight to someone's upcoming appointment.
  • The New appointment button, on the right. See Booking an appointment.

Views and display modes

Day is the working view. Each provider gets their own column, and the grid runs across your location's business hours (set under your location's settings), so an empty column means that provider has an open day — not that the calendar is broken. Week and Month give you the wider picture.

On a larger screen, the day view also offers three display modes:

  • Calendar — the time grid with provider columns (the default).
  • List — every appointment as a row, top to bottom.
  • Split — the grid on the left and the selected appointment's details on the right, so you can work without the detail popover covering the schedule.

On a phone, the calendar uses the List view automatically, since a multi-column time grid doesn't fit a narrow screen.

Providers and filtering

When several providers work the same day, the filter bar lets you narrow the columns to just the people you care about, and there's a Hide cancelled toggle to clear cancelled appointments out of the view. If your spa has more than one location, switch locations from the location switcher — the calendar then shows that location's schedule.

The tool rail

Down the right side is a rail of tools you reach for throughout the day. You can collapse it to give the calendar more room; your choice is remembered. The tools:

  • Messages — opens your text-message inbox in its own window so you can answer clients alongside the schedule.
  • Employee check-in — see who's clocked in and clock people in or out.
  • Price check — look up any service's price by name, code, or category without leaving the calendar.
  • Online bookings — a review inbox for appointments clients booked themselves on your website; the badge shows how many are waiting to be reviewed. See Managing an appointment.
  • Waitlist — clients hoping for an earlier slot. See The waitlist.
  • New sale and Custom packages — open in their own windows for ringing up a sale or assembling a package.
  • Reports (today) — an at-a-glance read on the day: appointment counts by status, where bookings came from, your busiest providers, and money collected.
  • View settings — adjust the grid, such as how tall an hour is and how wide the columns are.
