Finding your way around

A map of the sidebar, the calendar workspace, the message inbox, and roles.

Once you're signed in, almost everything in Lumè is reached from the menu down the left side of the screen. This article maps out what's there so you can find things quickly.

The main menu

The left-hand menu is grouped into two parts: your location (the day-to-day work) and your organization (business-wide settings).

Your location

  • Dashboard — your home screen: today's numbers, what's on the schedule, and quick links.
  • Calendar — the appointment book. Opens as its own full-screen workspace (more below).
  • Clients — search and open client records: contact details, history, forms, invoices, and charts.
  • Catalog — the services your spa offers and the categories that group them.
  • Staff — your employees, their schedules, and shift check-in. (Commissions and Payroll appear here on the Pro plan and above.)
  • Forms — build and manage client forms (intake and consent) and EMR templates for treatment records.
  • Reports — financial, staff, guest, and operations reports.
  • Marketing — audiences, templates, and campaigns for email and SMS. (Available on the Pro plan and above.)
  • Support — open a help request to the Lumè team and see your past conversations.

Organization

The Organization section holds business-wide settings, most of them owner-only:

  • Dashboard — a roll-up across all of your locations.
  • Business profile — your spa's name, branding, and contact details.
  • Locations — add and manage each physical location.
  • Online booking — configure the booking page your clients use.
  • Integrations — connect outside services.
  • Billing — your Lumè subscription and invoices.
  • Payment processing — how your spa charges its own clients' cards.

Some menu items only appear for certain roles or plans. If you don't see something described here, it's likely hidden for your role or not included in your plan — your owner can check.

The calendar workspace

The Calendar opens as a dedicated, full-width workspace rather than a normal page, because the front desk lives in it all day. It has its own top bar for the date, view, and search, and a right-hand rail of tools. To leave the calendar and return to the rest of the app, use the Back link in its top bar, which returns you to the Dashboard.

Messages

Your spa's text-message (SMS) inbox opens from a Messages tile in the calendar's right-hand rail. It opens in its own window so the front desk can work the inbox alongside the calendar instead of leaving the booking screen.

Switching locations

If your spa has more than one location, a location switcher appears so you can choose which one you're working in. The calendar, schedule, and reports then reflect that location. If your spa has a single location, the switcher is hidden — there's nothing to switch.

Your account and signing out

Your name and role sit at the bottom of the menu. Select your name to open account settings, and use Sign out when you're done — especially on a shared front-desk computer.

Roles, in brief

What each person sees is set by their role:

  • Owner — full access, including billing and payment-processing setup.
  • Manager — day-to-day management: staff, schedules, reports, and marketing.
  • Front desk — the calendar, clients, and checkout.
  • Provider — their own schedule and the clients they treat.
  • Bookkeeper — financial reporting and payroll views.
  • Marketing — the marketing tools.

Roles are assigned by the owner under Staff. If you need access to something you can't see, that's the place to change it.
