Marketing overview

The four building blocks — audiences, templates, campaigns, automations — and consent.

Marketing in Lumè runs on your live client data — the same records behind your calendar and checkout — so your messages always reach the right people without exporting spreadsheets or keeping lists in sync by hand. Find it under Marketing in the menu.

Marketing is part of the Pro plan and above. If you don't see it in your menu, your plan doesn't include it yet — see Your Lumè subscription.

The four building blocks

Marketing is built from four pieces that fit together:

  • Audiences — saved segments of clients, like birthday this month or no visit in 90 days.
  • Templates — reusable email and SMS message bodies, with tokens that personalize each send.
  • Campaigns — a one-time send: pick an audience, pick a template, send it now or schedule it.
  • Automations — always-on messages that fire on a trigger, like a birthday or a win-back.

The Marketing home page shows how many of each you have and what's currently in flight, so you can see your whole program at a glance.

Lumè only sends marketing messages to clients who have explicitly opted in, and it tracks that consent separately for email and SMS — opting into one isn't opting into the other. A few things happen automatically so you stay on the right side of the rules:

  • The moment someone unsubscribes from email or replies STOP to a text, they're permanently excluded from future marketing — suppression always wins, even if a list says otherwise.
  • Marketing emails carry the required unsubscribe link.
  • Texts respect quiet hours, so you're not messaging clients in the middle of the night.

You set a client's marketing opt-in on their client record, under the Marketing area of their profile.
